NEW ZEALAND MAGIC DEPARTURE FEBRUARY 25, 2017, RETURN MARCH 11, 2017 (a later return can be purchased through Air New Zealand for an extra flight deviation fee)

Join us on an unforgettable journey to premier hiking destinations in New Zealand’s North and South Islands. You’ll experience stunning, varied landscapes – lush rain forests, gushing geysers, limestone cliffs, and icy glaciers on the snow-capped Southern Alps. Hiking director Judy Shane, who lived in New Zealand for 9 years, selected her favorite day hikes for this unique adventure. We’ll start in Taupo and end in Queenstown. Independent Tours owners Kent Porter and Cyndi Smith-Porter will join Judy as guides. You will have an opportunity to participate in short hikes (2-4 miles) and longer hikes (5-9 miles) during the course of the trip. We will explore terrain unavailable to most group tours in New Zealand. In addition to hiking, you may arrange activities on your own – visiting museums, swimming with the dolphins, golfing, kayaking, zip lining, trout fishing, and jet boating. And travelers may choose to extend their trip beyond March 11th for an extra fee.

Trip base price: $4,500 (includes round trip airfare LAX/Auckland, all transport in NZ, all lodging, all guided hikes, all breakfasts, and dinner at the Hermitage on Mt. Cook/Aoraki)

SIGNING UP FOR THE TRIP
For the New Zealand Magic Hiking Trip(see calendar here), there must be a minimum of 22 participants and there will be a maximum of 30. The trip will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and sign-ups begin immediately. Please submit the following ASAP to reserve your participation in the New Zealand Magic Trip:

A. $1,500 initial trip payment (includes a non-refundable deposit of $450). You may pay your initial payment by check payable to Bernard Kent Porter, by cash, or online with a credit card. If you pay online using the PayPal site (instructions and information found here), you will be assessed the fee that PayPal charges (3% or $45) in addition to your $1,500 payment.
